- Competitors .. Other Competitors What are They Like are they Friendly?
- Equipment .. What Do I Need at the Show?
... For You: Food, Drink, Waterproof Clothing, Shoes that aren't too 'clumpy' but do have good grip on the fround & maybe trousers that 'compliment' your dog (it is not usual to compete with a skirt on!)
... For your Car: SatNav, Sheets that will cover your car windows etc on warm days (click here for a supplier) and ideally either a crate (Argos sell them) in the car or a purpose made cage or 'tailgate'. You CANNOT just shut your dog in your car with closed doors and windows all day whilst at a show, doors/tailgates need to be open, you need to secure your dog (crate or purpose made metal barrier needed) for its own safety and so it cannot 'fly out' at other dogs passing your car.

- Helping at Shows .. Why Should I?

- How Long Will I Be in the Ring?
- How Many Dogs Will be In Each Class?
- Merit Points (on Entry Form) .. What are They?
... Merit Points are points gained by dogs qualified to compete in Championship C, points are accumulated by placings in Open C and Championship C, the points have to be stated on entry forms for Championship C class. The points are used IF a Championship C class entry exceeds 60, then those with the least merit points will be listed in order of points as reserves. Reserves can only work if some of the higher 60 merit point dogs do not book into the Championship class, then reserves are slotted into the end of the day in highest merit point order.
- Refreshments .. Will There be Any?
- Registration with the Kennel Club .. How do I do it?
Overview of Registration & Activity Registration Form
... All dogs that you take to the show with you need to be registered with the Kennel Club, even if they are not going to be competing at any show (see 'How to Enter' page for more information)
- Return All Entries If Balloted Out (on Entry Form) .. What is This?
- Ring Numbers .. What/Where Are They?
... At the ringside the number will either be pre-written and in a numerical pile on the table somewhere OR there will be a blank pile of cards for you to take one and write your own dogs number on it.
... The number must be as per the 'Booking In' sheet number for your dog (the number will be the same for all classes you enter with the same dog). Check you take the correct pre-written one or if you write your own make sure its the correct number for your dog.
